SHOVEL DANCE COLLECTIVE

PHOTOGRAPHY and ART DIRECTION for Shovel Dance Collective’s latest album titled “The Shovel Dance”.

Drawing inspiration from fluxus stamps, I wanted to create images of the members that felt modern but also of another era (like their music).

After initially shooting the images on film we then exposed the images onto a photosensitive metal plate and printed in the same way as a copper plate etching. The final result bridges the gap between the portraits and the scene depicted in the dry point etching.
